What is CNC Milling?
CNC milling is one of the most popular types of CNC machining processes. In a CNC milling machine, rotating cutting tools move relative to the workpiece to remove material. The cutting tool ( the milling tool) is fixed on a spindle that can rotate. The rotation and movement of the spindle give CNC milling machines the ability to perform three or more axes milling operations.
This manufacturing process applies to a variety of materials, including metals, polymers, wood, and glass.

3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis for CNC Milling Services
We offer 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, and right-angle milling services to help you quickly create products from simple straight lines to complex geometries.
5-Axis
These machines have three traditional axes as well as two additional rotary axes. A 5-axis CNC mill is, therefore, able to machine 5 sides of a workpiece in one machine without having to remove the workpiece and reset it.
3-Axis
The most widely used type of CNC milling machine. The full use of the X, Y, and Z directions makes a 3-axis CNC mill useful for a wide variety of work.
4-Axis
This type of CNC mill allows the machine to rotate on a vertical axis, moving the workpiece to introduce more continuous machining.
Available Materials for CNC Milling
There is a wide variety of CNC machining materials available for milling. Typically, the most used are metals and plastics.
Metals
Metal materials are widely used in CNC milling due to their durability and strength. Common metals widely used in the milling process include aluminum, stainless steel, and brass. Other materials that can be used for milling include copper, bronze, magnesium, titanium, zinc, etc.
Plastics
Plastic materials are frequently used in CNC milling because they are easy to machine and have a wide range of properties that make them ideal for many applications. It includes ABS, acrylic, PC, PVC, Nylon, POM, PE, Teflon, and more.
One-stop Surface Finishing
Improve your part’s performance by selecting high-quality surface finishes that enhance the roughness, hardness, chemical resistance, and cosmetic features of your finished component.
CNC Milling Tolerances
Machining tolerances: When machining a part, the tolerance is the allowable deviation from the desired dimension. The tolerance must be taken into account when setting up the machine and when producing custom-milled parts.
At DEZE, we follow the ISO 2768 standards for both machined plastic and metal parts. This ensures that our products meet the highest quality standards. Typically, we can hold a CNC machining tolerance from ±0.005″ (±0.125mm) to ±0.002″ (±0.05mm) or even a tight tolerance of ±0.01mm.
